CALLOS TriENA at Open Conservation Laboratory
TriENA is now completed and installed in the Open Conservation Lab (OCL) of the CALLOS-project.
This hybrid system combines 3 spectroscopic analytical techniques (LIBS, LED-IF, and DR) in 1 portable device and is a deliverable of the CALLOS -project. It has been developed at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser of FORTH by the researchers of the Photonics for Heritage Science Group, in collaboration with the conservators of EACA in order to meet the analytical challenges commonly encountered on Athenian monuments.
On 24 and 25 July 2023, this innovative portable system was installed at the #callosproject open conservation laboratory and its analytical capabilities were demonstrated on selected objects.
An informative seminar was also held to ensure compliance with protective measures when employing devices using laser radiation and the conservators of EACA were trained in the operation of the TriENA system.
