It was truly heartbreaking to hear about the sudden loss of our close collaborator and friend, Vincent Detalle, on March 4, 2025. Vincent was passionate about the various applications of lasers in heritage analysis and conservation. He embraced new ideas and challenges to advance modern conservation practices. Always on the road to test portable instruments on-site at monuments across France and Europe, he exchanged ideas and explored innovative concepts. Vincent played a significant role in transforming these novel ideas into research projects and their implementation, making him a valuable member of the E-rihs.eu community.

We shall always remember Vincent fondly for his kindness, his openness and his friendship.
